How to Play Electronic Poker
Electronic Poker is a popular game that can be gambled on in casinos across the world, or in your house on your personal computer, through a net account. The regulations are very straightforward and involve the player trying to achieve the greatest combination of cards achievable in order to win cash. In this respect it is much the same as a regular game of poker, without the involvement with other players. Of course, tactics used in a real-life game of poker, like tricking, will be irrelevant here.
The game of Video Poker begins when the enthusiast puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the deal button. A hand of 5 cards will then be "distributed" on the screen.
The Electronic Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and players should now choose which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the enthusiast wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.
After the enthusiast has selected which cards he or she would like to keep, they should press ‘deal’, which will mean that any new cards are needed they will be given out. The hand is now finished, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands listed in the pay out schedule.
Normally, the lowest succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It is obvious that the pay out schedule can range from machine to machine, so that discerning players are able to select the most money-making ones every instance.
After the initial round has completed, the player can either choose to continue on in an attempt to increase their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that might have been won. Further, several styles of the game allow the gambler a chance to increase their winnings, in which case another game is played. There are also variations between specific machines, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing elements to increase playability.
